The Four W's - The Discipleship Strategy at Harvest
"The focus in not just on the quantity of disciples...rather it is on the quality of their discipleship."
Harvest Bible Chapel is a church that is purposeful about discipleship! We believe that mature disciples walk with Christ, worship Christ, work for Christ and witness for Christ. A person who is increasing in their relationship with Christ will worship Christ both personally and corporately with other believers. They will also walk with Christ in their personal lives and partner with other believers for the purpose of edification and accountability. They will also work for Christ by using their spiritual gifts, passions and experiences to shoulder weekly kingdom responsibilities in His church and world. Lastly, a true follower of Jesus will witness for Christ to further His Kingdom both personally in their daily lives and corporately through partnerships with other believers. We believe it is this person who will experience significant growth in personal sanctification and, therefore, will experience a closer personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and will become "complete in Christ”—Colossians 1:28.
Two Commitments of Harvest's Discipleship Ministries
:
1) We are committed to multiplying the godly characteristics of leaders' lives into others—2 Timothy 2:2.
We believe that the
multiplication of ministry
is key to the healthy growth of the church.
2) We are committed to caring for one another and meeting one another's needs through mutual ministry - Ephesians 4:11-12
We believe that we are to walk toward Christ-likeness together and that believers should minister to one another in the local church. We believe in
mutual ministry
in the family of God. This means we believe that the role of Pastors is to "equip the saints for the work of the ministry" (Ephesians 4:12) and we desire to see God's people using their spiritual gifts to encourage and exhort fellow believers and non-believers in the church and community.
