    Open Positions:

    Pastor/Director of Student Discipleship

    • Job Description Position Title: Pastor/Director of Student Discipleship
    • Position Reports to: Senior Pastor
    • Position Objective:  To provide pastoral leadership to select ministries which exist to shepherd students at Harvest Bible Chapel, North Indianapolis into the lifestyle of following Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

    Explanation of Position Objective:

“To provide pastoral leadership”: The primary aim of this phrase is two-fold. First, it is expected that the person who fills this position is first and foremost a pastor/shepherd of God’s flock. In that, he should be recognized by the church as having met the characteristics of an Elder in the church (I Timothy 3, Titus 1). The task at hand is primarily pastoral in nature and thus requires personal commitments to spiritual growth as well as the professional ability to guide others toward spiritual vibrancy and protection. However, the task is not simply pastoral. This position requires a pastoral leader. In affirming this statement, this person should be gifted and committed to providing direction, vision and accountability to others under their leadership. The ability to cast vision, help others develop and implement practical goals and objectives, and the commitment to hold personnel and programs to stated levels of accountability are vital in this role of leadership. (Ephesians 4:12)

“to select ministries which exist to shepherd students at HBCNI into a lifestyle of following Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior ”: These ministries include all aspects of Harvest Students (Middle and High School) and College Ministry. Each of these ministries should have elements that specifically and measurably move persons to commitments, convictions and actions that demonstrate an ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the faith family at Harvest.
